# The Executive DBA Council

> Global non-profit fostering excellence and innovation in executive doctoral degree programs.

The Executive DBA Council (EDBAC) was founded in 2011 with a mission to foster excellence and innovation in executive doctoral degree programs worldwide. EDBAC is the only organization globally that focuses exclusively on executive doctoral degree programs and their issues — degrees aimed at fully employed experienced professionals (10+ years post-baccalaureate experience), built around engaged-scholarship research into contemporary business and management problems, taught by research-active doctoral faculty, residency-based, cohort-driven, and a minimum of three years in length. EDBAC serves Directors, Academic Directors, Faculty, Administrators, Students, and Alumni of these programs and acts as the primary information source for media, prospective students, and business schools considering launching executive doctoral programs. The Council also runs the annual Engaged Management Scholarship (EMS) conference.
