Curriculum Description
The DBA programme in principle is a five-year doctoral programme, split into a learning stage (year 1) and a research stage (year 2 to 5). The learning stage aims to build up participants’ research capability and leads to a formal progress assessment that gives access to the research stage, in which they further develop their doctoral assignments and PhD thesis. Throughout the whole programme participants also need to engage in the academic and broader community by taking part in relevant academic, professional and business conferences and activities. Choice of these activities partially depends on participants’ individual motivation and ambitions to engage in the DBA programme.
Thesis Requirements
Required to complete and defend a dissertation in 5 years. Participants are offered the flexibility to take an accelerated track and reduce the research stage to less than four years or extend the programme beyond five years in case of delays.
Program Description
It’s a unique joint doctoral programme offered by three different universities, Vlerick Business School, KU Leuven and Ghent University.
Application requirements
10 years of minimum work experience, proficiency in English language, motivation essay, initial research idea, GMAT/GRE (exemptions possible), resume and transcripts. Online application and interviews.
